Protochain is a research-oriented development and trading firm focused on building the future of crypto infrastructure and markets.

We're a team of both builders and traders who work to unlock the long-term potential of crypto by building a suite of products, contributing to decentralized protocols and open-source codebases, and improving the market structure. We are based out of New York City, with the possibility to be remote depending on the position.

As a Smart Contract Engineer at Protochain, you'll work on a number of Protochain-contributed projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our smart contract development team to develop and build new core smart contracts.
  • Brainstorm and ideate on new protocol designs.
  • Engage and work with both internal and external auditing teams and implementing feedback.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience working in a collaborative product-driven environment
  • Deployed multiple smart contracts to Ethereum mainnet or an EVM compatible chain that secured substantial user funds
  • Deep understanding of Solidity and the EVM
  • Active participant in the blockchain ecosystem as a user
  • Experience owning multi month long projects, including communication of progress, dependencies, and risk mitigation directly with stakeholders and partners
  • Computer science fundamentals and systems design

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Rust, TypeScript, AWS
  • Experience developing smart contracts on non-EVM blockchains
  • Experience building dApps end to end
  • Curious about financial markets
  • Enjoys working like an owner, prepared to work somewhat non-standard hours as crypto is 24/7/365
