Web3 VP Accounting, Controller

RECUR is a technology company that designs & develops dedicated branded experiences that allow fans to buy, collect, and re-sell digital products and collectibles (NFTs). RECUR is the only blockchain-agnostic NFT platform ultimately giving its brand partners the widest range of distribution and their fan bases the widest range of utility. RECUR also co-authored the recurring royalty standard for NFTs, allowing creators, artists, athletes, and brands to participate in the secondary sales of their assets in perpetuity. RECUR is seeking a VP of Accounting to lead our Accounting team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing team, where you will be focused on building RECUR’s accounting function and supporting the Finance team through process creation and automation. What you will do at RECUR Oversee the accounting operations for RECUR, including the production of financial reports Evaluate and enhance RECUR’s Finance processes and workflows across multiple functions, including payroll, budgeting, tax, billing and invoice management, vendor payments, and brand finance (including royalties) Work with external partners to prepare and file quarterly income taxes, and ensure timely payment of all corporate federal, state, and local, tax returns, with an aim to transition to in-house tax preparation Conduct accounting for RECUR’s Finance team, including preparation of journal entries with comprehensive backup documentation and attention to detail with account codes and accurate explanations and support for transactions Ensure timely general ledger close for period-end and adherence to other accounting-related deadlines Generate period-end financial packets Formalize and maintain compliance with internal controls Engage in multi-jurisdictional tax review of proposed transactions and product offerings to ensure that management is aware of all potential tax consequences Collaborate with the People team to manage payroll and finance and tax aspects of employee benefits Act as a liaison for Finance to provide tax and finance input, planning, and documentation to internal business stakeholders, including the Brand, Product, and People teams, and assist in problem-solving What you bring to RECUR 10+ years of tax and finance experience in a technology company or Big 4 firm Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; Master's in Accounting, and CPA certification Proficiency with industry-standard financial tools and software Strong general ledger accounting and analytical skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Experience with building tax planning functions and clearly communicating details to management Ability to distill information and build clear and concise presentations Strong communication skills with peers and senior leadership Ability to effectively elicit feedback and quickly integrate it into work product Benefits & Perks Commitment to being a remote-first company & embracing remote work best practices Comprehensive insurance plans - health, dental, and vision + disability and life Insurance Equity in RECUR 401(k) with 2% company matching, no waiting period Flexible Spending Account and Dependent Care Accounts 4 weeks paid vacation, 11 company holidays, 3 floating holidays Parental Leave - Primary & Secondary $100 per month stipend for internet & cell phone Learning and development reimbursement (including online courses, certifications, conferences, seminars, etc.) Free monthly subscription to Headspace, Gympass, Omad, One Medical, XP Health This is a completely remote role and can work anywhere in the US. #LI-REMOTE
