As a Lead Concept Artist, you are responsible for not only creating the most exemplary artwork but lifting the entire discipline's creative ability - through leading the way and mentoring, You demonstrate world-class talent and execution in a substantial portfolio as an ambassador of your craft - you lift the entire discipline with your stewardship and work. You're the first line of quality approval of the craft team's output. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in the production of our new blockchain game project from the very beginning. You will be working alongside our game production team located across the globe. This role is a remote role based in North America. Responsibilities Knows what “good looks like” - we’re looking for someone with an exquisite sense of style and aesthetics Humble and kind personality, an approachable mentor for more junior artists A natural mentor - someone people turn to for assistance and inspiration Mastery of the creative process: innate ability to deploy the proper procedure for a given challenge Delivers and communicates designs effectively Excellent understanding of lighting, post-processing techniques, and lens effects Contributes significantly to style guide development and supports other crafts/disciplines, Game Art Lead, Creative Director, and Studio Lead's vision Can independently execute on high-level game vision to cover new requirements Requirements 6+ years of professional experience as a senior/ lead concept artist and need to understand the concept artist’s role in the game development process. A solid foundation of art fundamentals regarding colour, form, light. With experience overseeing the quality, scheduling, and implementation of a large portion of the conceptual development on an art team. Good understanding of 3D art pipelines, and technical constraints related to different game engines. Good understanding of human and creature anatomy and know how to generalize and refine realistic structures to meet production needs. Strong leadership, team, and people management skills Exceptional ability to master the art styles of various major games.
