Build data pipelines and ingestion from all data sources including production systems, corporate systems, and partner ecosystems. While reporting to the CTO, this role serves as the infrastructure provider to the CDO. Success will be measured by how well the platform enables the CDO to build effective enterprise and commercial analytics with the data lake platform. Engineer data at rest architecture and enforce security, privacy, and regulatory requirements. Establish the logical data model and evolve to improve performance and functional requirements. Partner with Operations to establish robust observability and ongoing management of the platform. Build teams required to implement data acquisition, and platform tech stack. Make recommendations for investments, governance, and data strategy. Principal Responsibilities Negotiate requirements and priorities with Product Management, CDO and CTO Establish scalable scrum teams working remotely Minimize context switching Complete detailed resource planning releases Partner with key software engineering firms to create burst capacity Hire top talent to establish core competencies in house Drive positive culture and morale Initiate executive communications regarding activities and needs Proactively establish frameworks and architecture standards Establish and report KPIs periodically Leverage best practices and microservices for process isolation Eliminate SPOFs and bottlenecks Transform legacy platform into microservices delivery Implement robust multi-region, multi-country cloud data architecture Proactively instrument analytics and logging for all releases Publish and curate team performance reporting Establish customer testing and sandbox prior to production releases Make architecture recommendations and drive alignment with Product and peers Establish quality standards for each release phase gate Promote security and zero trust design Promote compliance and security certification expansion Budgetary control and management Conduct employee performance reviews and HR matters Ensure fairness and equity Build a data platform that performs best with the new AWS platform yet bridges legacy Build and Retain a World-Class Team Experience and Skills 10 years of software engineering or data engineering leadership experience 5 years of people management Effective employee engagement and development; seeks and appreciates feedback 5 years of big data or database management experience Practical budgeting, hiring, project management, and planning skills Hands on with tools and technical design Practical automation, middleware, ETL, or CI/CD development experience Deep understanding of AWS and/or Google Cloud Influential leadership and poise under pressure Assertive delegation, drives accountability, and takes ownership despite ambiguity Prefer experience with crypto and FinTech Prefer experience with $1B+ revenue global company Occasional travel <10% Education - Bachelor's degree in technology/engineering or equivalent work experience Location - Remote Job Type - Full-time position Benefits - Flexible PTO/Paid holidays/401(k)/Health, Dental, and Vision insurance for employee and dependents which is currently 100% paid for by the company, after the first day of the month following date of employment, and connectivity service reimbursement up to $100 per month (which includes work related cell phone, wifi, etc.) At Prime Trust, we hold the steadfast belief that diversity and inclusion is essential to realize our mission and is a must-have for us to do our best work.
