Analytics Engineer

Nansen is a blockchain analytics platform that enriches on-chain data with millions of wallets labels. Crypto investors use Nansen to discover opportunities, perform due diligence and defend their portfolios with our real-time dashboards and alerts. About the role We’re looking for a founding Analytics Engineer to come to join our brand new Data Warehouse (DWH) team focused on making internal data available across Nansen while ensuring its accuracy and timeliness Our DWH team will work at the intersection of data, engineering, and our product squads, and will be responsible for building downstream data models from backend services with a desire to make our internal data and how we use it a genuine competitive advantage Our technology stack today consists of: Google Cloud Platform, dbt, Big Query and Metabase (for dashboarding) Responsibilities You'll take the lead on developing and owning core data models that enable us to make better decisions faster and help lay the foundations for a best in class Analytics Engineering team Design, develop and support data pipelines, warehouses, and reporting systems to solve business operations, users, and product problems Work closely with analysts to create a data analytics platform and work closely with finance to create, test, and maintain data models Take initiative and be responsible for solutions to data quality and workflow challenges Drive the thinking on a scalable approach to prioritize data governance issues Your experience Experience with and passion for leading Data Warehousing projects as a designer or architect, preferably in a fast-growth environment Exceptional SQL and data modeling skills (nice to haves) experience working with finance (bonus points for accounting knowledge!), fluency in Python (or similar), previous experience with dbt/data form or similar tooling Who you are Self-starter and able to operate independently, with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining a focus on delivery and excellence at work Comfortable with ambiguity and able to adapt to changes in priorities and plans Empathetic, kind, curious, and sincere, with bonus points for crypto fluency What we offer Hypergrowth business that is a web3 leader Globally leading compensation, stock, and benefits including Nansen Hubs!
