Senior Protocol Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Take a leading role in developing future protocol versions, covering everything from initial R&D to ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to finalize protocol designs and support their implementation.
• Continuously optimize the protocol to maximize efficiency, throughput, and overall performance.
• Prioritize performance improvements and scalability enhancements for the underlying blockchain.
• Conduct rigorous testing and security assessments to identify and address vulnerabilities and potential issues.
• Actively engage with the open-source community, collaborating with external contributors and participating in community events.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in smart contract development using EVM and Solidity, alongside proficiency in protocol development languages like Go or Rust.
• Demonstrate at least 5 years of senior engineering experience, preferably within Web2 or Web3 tech companies, with additional experience at consumer social companies being a notable advantage.
• Possess knowledge in advanced cryptography, including group signatures and zero-knowledge proofs, as well as a solid understanding of IPFS and distributed hash tables.
• Showcase a first-principles approach and a systems-thinking mindset, with a keen interest in solving complex challenges related to human coordination, incentives, collaboration, and market design.
• Exhibit familiarity with reputation and collaboration systems, complemented by an understanding of related concepts such as game theory, incentive design, and social trust.
• Display exceptional judgment when faced with intricate technical design trade-offs.
• Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, although this is preferred but not mandatory.
