Role

Overview

Amber Group is looking to hire a highly motivated, proactive, and intellectually curious Settlement / Middle Office Associate to join our Toronto center of excellence. The role offers a unique opportunity for the individual to develop professionally in the exciting and evolving field of crypto/blockchain financial services, with the possibility of attending a training program in our Hong Kong office.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely trade bookings and liaise with the Trading team to remediate issues
  • Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting
  • Review and rectify exceptions
  • Assist with computation and verification of daily PnL
  • Perform daily settlements of fiat and digital assets
  • Manage custody accounts to ensure appropriate segregation of client assets
  • Perform key controls, identify gaps, and ensure accurate reporting of Key Risk Indicators (KRI)
  • Investigate and rectify reconciliation breaks
  • Propose process improvements and support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support sales, trading, and clients with subject matter expertise

Requirements:

  • We welcome applications from graduates in a relevant field (Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Passionate about Finance, Fintech, and Digital Assets
  • Understanding of derivative products and settlement process
  • Diligent and detail-oriented
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and coping with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities
  • Flexibility to provide coverage on weekends and public holidays when needed
  • Knowledge of Python is an advantage
  • Fresh graduates are welcomed
