Director of Legal Affairs

Global Income Coin seeks a highly motivated and experienced attorney who is enthusiastic about crypto and the potential to create a global basic income. We are looking for a Director of Legal Affairs to help us navigate the legal and regulatory environment as we launch a new cryptocurrency throughout the world. As Global Income Coin is in its infancy you will have the opportunity to be a vital contributor to fulfilling our mission to help reduce extreme poverty by distributing a dollar a day of basic income to every person on earth. This is an essential role at an early mission-driven nonprofit startup looking to invent a global universal basic income. In this role, you will help us establish our legal and compliance standards as we work with exchanges and other ecosystem partners throughout many parts of the world. The ideal candidate has an exceptional legal and business judgment, as well as a basic understanding of crypto and the regulatory challenges in the space. You will join a fully remote team that is working to launch Global Income Coin in the second half of 2022. Qualifications: JD and and currently licensed Minimum of 5+ years experience in law practice; in-house experience is a plus Substantial experience advising on legal issues related to business development and partnerships Experience managing legal team members Ability to work efficiently both independently and in cross-functional teams Comfortable working in areas where the regulatory environment is still uncertain and evolving Strong verbal/written communication and analytical skills Flexibility to a wide range of work and types of projects Experience in cryptocurrencies, blockchain and monetary systems is a plus Responsibilities: Advise on all issues related to the legal aspects of the Global Income Coin Provide strategic and practical counsel on cryptocurrency initiatives Advise on regulatory questions related to our cryptocurrency initiatives, including exchange listings and KYC/AML regulations Manage internal team members and outside counsel Ensure compliance with applicable international laws and regulations Provide thought leadership and strategic direction on Proactively solve processes and other problems for the business as they plan and execute on an accelerated and aggressive global growth plan Serve as a subject matter expert on law and relevant regulatory issues Draft terms and conditions that comply with relevant PII and data regulations Work collaboratively with the leadership team on strategic initiatives and challenging issues Negotiate and draft partnership terms and deals Develop and implement legal guidelines, policies, and playbooks for the organization Why join Global Income Coin?
