About the Role We are adding an Assistant Financial Controller to improve our organization's financial performance and direct our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working with high-growth startups in the Fintech space. Responsibilities will include managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information. You will report to the Controller. This is a remote role.

What You Get To Do Every Day

• Responsible for the monthly financial close process to include preparation of month end financial statements including balance sheet, income statements, statement of cash flows, board reporting, Key Performance Indicators and Management Discussion and Analysis.
• Produces and manages balance sheets and analyzes future earnings and expenses.
• Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization.
• Assists with preparations for audits. Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
• Ensures compliance with and prepares reports according to applicable government regulations.
• Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
• Delegates accounting tasks to junior accounting staff.
• Coordinates with and prepares reports for the Controller and upper management.
• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.Requirements:
• BA or BS in Accounting and 4 or more years on point experience as a Finance manager.
• Previous experience as an Sr. Accounting manager beneficial.
• Comprehensive understanding of management accounting principles and techniques
• Proven experience with standard accountancy and finance best practices, including knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• In-depth knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting Strong analytical skills to effectively analyze financial reports
• In-depth knowledge of principles, policies, and practices related to payment operations as well as expertise in digital payment processing.
• Exposure to state and federal US taxes.
• Reliable, extremely detail-oriented, and a problem-solver Extremely self disciplined and self motivated.
• Highly comfortable working with distributed teams across time zones will be a big plus.
• Strong fluency in business level English
• High attention to accuracy Basic prior knowledge or some familiarity with Ethereum/Crypto/Blockchain preferred.
• Preparing board presentations
• Strong proficiency in Quickbooks, Netsuite, SalesForce, Bill.com, ASC 606 & a Excel Power-user
• Experience within a growing software/technology start-up
