Staff Cloud Engineer We’re looking for a Staff Cloud Engineer to bring the thunder and help us build tools that help a-cumulus new customers to send Shakepay into the stratosphere. Ok, that’s all for the cloud jokes; this job is cirrus. We started with a simple infrastructure that was easily managed by our small team, but now that team isn’t so small—and now that infrastructure is serving over 1,000,000 Canadians (nbd😏). So, now it’s less small and less simple. If you’ve got the experience we’re looking for, you can probably tell that means we need your help because 1,000,000 shakers are a company, but getting to 10,000,000 is a cloud… maybe you can help with our joke infrastructure too. Oh yeah, we’re a bitcoin platform. In fact, Shakepay is the easiest way for Canadians to buy and earn bitcoin. We’ve got a one-of-a-kind community of shakers (aka “customers”) that keeps on growing, regardless of how the crypto market is doing. They love Shakepay almost as much as they love bitcoin, which is really saying something. To the Bitcoin Golden Age! You will: Define Shakepay’s infrastructure vision and strategy Implement Infrastructure as code best practices Evangelize and lead infrastructure automation culture with GitOps best practices Build/deploy/maintain security controls, instrumentation, and detection infrastructure Foster innovation while maintaining a high bar for quality, scale, and performance Participate in meme-wars across teams (or should we say, precipitate?) Mentor DevOps engineers through Pull Request reviews and collaborative design sessions Have an influence across the entire organization, with a correspondingly large impact on customers Must have: 7+ years of working experience in DevOps Familiarity with AWS & Kubernetes Experience with GitOps Killer video-call hangout backgrounds Experience with infrastructure security Experience with infrastructure as code Nice to have: Experience with Node.js, React-Native, Vue, Postgres, Docker Experience with building financial infrastructure Bitcoin knowledge A nimbus to ride in on for your commute (if you want to come into the office) What you get: Potentially life-changing stock options.
