DevOps Engineer

The Role

Our Entertainment division (Film and Music) is excited to announce we are hiring! We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team and assist with the development, deployment, and management of our cloud-based infrastructure. This is primarily for a security-focused DevOps position. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of AWS security, GitLab security, and application-level security, along with experience working with backend services.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and maintain our AWS infrastructure
• Manage GitLab security, including pipeline security, Docker images, and container scanning
• Ensure application-level security, including inspecting web and websocket traffic, C# routines, and researching vulnerabilities in the Godot engine.
• Develop and maintain backend services, including VLANs, authentication, and encryption
• Working with the larger DevOps team at Gala to accomplish company-wide goals, as well as maintaining direct team contributions.
• Implement and manage security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure and security
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy new features and services
• Monitor infrastructure and identify areas for improvement

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or a related field
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of AWS security, including IAM, Secrets Manager, EC2 and Lambda.
• Experience managing GitLab security, including pipeline security, Docker images, and container scanning
• Professional experience with application-level security
• Knowledge of backend services, including VLANs, authentication, and encryption
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Self-motivated, stellar work ethic, fun collaborator
• Excited by problem-solving
• Fearless

Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications

• Websockets, C#, and the Godot engine
• Familiar with Gala Games, Film, or Music
• Experience with cryptocurrency and blockchain technology
• Certifications in AWS or GitLab security
• Prior successful experience working in a fully remote environment
