Web3 Ecosystem(Community Management): Pan-Africa

Roles & Responsibilities

As a community and ecosystem team member, you would involve working on various ecosystem outreach & community building activities as well as collaborating closely with our portfolio companies. The candidate will play a key role in building and strengthening Hashed Emergent’s network and brand recognition within the web3 ecosystem in major cities across African countries including Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa among others.

Responsibilities include:

• Staying up to date with current trends (competitors’ social & and ecosystem activities, industry trends, best practices, etc.) to understand how Hashed Emergent can be best positioned in the space
• Participating in investor, developer, and industry conferences for strategic intelligence and also managing and growing a deep network of relationships
• Sourcing, evaluating and executing high-value strategic partnerships with key enablers in the African ecosystem
• Strong reach over web3 communities in the pan-African ecosystem
• Owning all communication with enablers, partners, community members, and more across various channels
• Building and nurturing communities of students, developers and our own portfolio founders in Africa and add value by creating synergies between them
• Conducting events for the community of portfolio founders, students and developers. This can range from college mixers, to dinners, to speaker series, workshops, off-sites, and conferences, while covering all aspects from idea generation, speaker recruitment, budgeting, promotion, and onsite logistics
• Strategizing initiatives based on top-level goals, and driving them to completion
• Planning and implementing portfolio-peer-network activation with support activities such as strategic introductions, virtual learning sessions, founder gatherings, coaching support, peer mentoring, etc with a goal to cultivate knowledge sharing and problem solving practices between portfolio companies

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a community/ecosystem/partnership role working with or at startups
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• A proven track record producing, executing, and strategizing events, IRL and virtually
• A “digital native” with an established personal web presence and a strong interest in new technologies
• Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred

• An enthusiasm for the crypto & web3 economy
• Work experiences in a venture capital firm, accelerator or incubator
• Ability to work independently and also contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, high pressure, entrepreneurial environment
