Story Protocol aims to grow the creativity of the internet. The internet has introduced revolutionary new methods of developing and distributing creative work: endless remixing, participatory franchises, and AI-generated content. However, our current intellectual property infrastructure works against the openness of the internet instead of embracing it. Story Protocol is building an IP infrastructure optimized for the internet era.

Our mission is to unleash the creativity of the internet by building the native IP infrastructure layer of the web. Our open IP repository enables creative IPs — prose, images, audio, and more — to record their evolutionary journey from inception through the endless combinatorics of digital co-creation. Beyond tracking the provenance and attribution of IP as it grows, we also provide modules that power frictionless composability, allowing anyone to contribute to an IP and to capture the value of that contribution.

Just as Git revolutionized the development of open-source software by encompassing the networked evolution of code, Story Protocol is transforming the development of creative IP.

The Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Community Lead to join our team as our "Chief Excitement Officer." This role is perfect for someone who is chronically online, deeply immersed in digital culture, and ready to be the biggest degen at the company. You will spearhead our bottom-up community initiatives, guiding our Discord, Telegram, and Twitter strategies, and operationalizing community engagement with a fearless and fun-loving attitude. You will be instrumental in fostering a vibrant and inclusive community that supports Story Protocol’s mission and vision.

Responsibilities

• Community Building and Management: Scale, manage, and direct community-driven initiatives. Guide Discord and Telegram groups, create city-specific meetups, and operationalize follow-ups.
• Engagement: Actively engage with community members across various platforms, providing tools and resources to encourage interaction and meaningful discussions. Spam memes and other fun content to keep the community excited and engaged.
• Ambassador Programs: Help manager our ambassador program to empower and engage community advocates.
• Content Creation: Work closely with our Social Lead to create compelling content for campaigns, including meme templates and other community resources. Create impromptu content based on Twitter narratives and community needs.
• Event Coordination: Organize and participate in community events, webinars, and meetups to build relationships and foster connections within the community.
• Feedback Loop: Gather and relay community feedback to product and development teams to ensure user needs are met and to inform future product development.
• Metrics and Reporting: Monitor and report on community growth, engagement, and sentiment to inform strategy and demonstrate impact.
• Crisis Management: Handle challenging situations calmly, especially during high-stress times like airdrop programs, maintaining a professional demeanor even when faced with negative feedback.
• Culture of Excitement: Fearlessly embody and promote Story Protocol's personality. Be the biggest idiot in the room to encourage others to step up and engage. Create a culture of excitement and inclusivity.

Who you are

• Proven experience in community management, ideally within the blockchain, AI, or technology sectors.
• Strong understanding of blockchain technology, IP management, and the web3 ecosystem.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to create engaging content and drive meaningful conversations.
• Experience organizing and managing events, both virtual and in-person.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
• Passionate about Story Protocol’s mission and the potential of blockchain and AI technologies.
• Hands-on approach to community management, willing to engage directly with community members from day one.
• Resilient under pressure, able to handle difficult situations with a positive attitude.
• A natural at creating excitement and engaging with online communities, with a knack for making the Story Protocol personality shine.
